Birthday Presents!!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I have received a couple of gifts in the mail that I was showing Lil Pig. Here are a couple pictures of her with my presents.

I love movies by Studio Ghibli, and apparently now so does Lil Pig. We watched Totoro the other day and she loved it. I think later on today we are going to watch Spirited Away because I think she'll like that movie too.

My sister sent me a birthday gift package that contained a bunch of different treats in it. When I showed it to Lil Pig she got a huge smile on her face, her eyes opened wide, and she dove, snout first, right into my birthday bag! I pulled her out before she could eat anything. I did share some caramel covered popcorn with her, though. This picture didn't turn out too well, but you get the general idea. I wonder how she's going to react if I get any more gifts in the mail. :)

Such a great helper!

Lil Pig really goes the extra mile when she helps someone. After being quarantined from the RAI treatment for three solid days (and today being the fourth) it was time to start getting rid of any remaining radioactive material that could possibly hurt James. He is coming home today, and it will be so nice to see him. I know that Lil Pig is super excited for him to come home. Here are some more pictures of Lil Pig helping me to clear out the yucky stuff!

Here is Lil Pig reading a book about thyroid cancer. She's been reading it a lot and has learned a lot of things that can help me. What a nice thing for her to do!

Since I took the RAI, I was given specific instructions that anyone who helps me clean up should wear rubber gloves. Well, the ones I had didn't fit her too well, but she found a way to make it work. Look at her tackle that 409 bottle! She has some serious skills!

I also had to wash all my blankets and clothes separately (and will need to for another day at least). We stripped the blankets off the bed and started the wash early this morning. Here she is helping me put one of my blankets in the dryer. I had to bring a chair in for her since she is still too little to reach the dryer door.

I told her we were going to open up the windows and air the apartment out. She was so excited that she ran into the bedroom and grabbed the blinds to pull them up. But in her excitement she got tangled in the cords! She was laughing so hard she snorted! I just had to take the picture before I untangled her. She was fine though. Yes, Lil Pig has many adventures, and I am lucky to be able to experience them right along with her. Thanks, Lil Pig, for all your help. You are the best!

Doing what she does best

Lil Pig and I have had lots of time to spend together, and this has proven to be quite entertaining. Who knew that she could be so full of energy and have such character? Here are some more pictures of the exciting things that have taken place.

I walked into the study the other day to find Lil Pig trying to climb my vanilla orchid! I had to explain to her that it is not a little tree of just the right size for her to climb as she had originally thought. She apologized and felt bad, and then I felt bad for having to reprimand her. So, I thought it would be fun to play dress up.

Lil Pig found this fantastically pink and fuzzy scarf and loved it immediately. I couldn't help but laugh! Look at how happy she is! I let her wear it all day...mostly because she wouldn't take it off.

Another day, when I was not feeling so well after having exhausted myself from doctor's visits and just all around movements, Lil Pig decided to play me a song on the piano. I was thrilled. I love listening to her play. Here she is playing "God Help The Outcasts" from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. I love singing this song, but due to recent circumstances I am not able to. It will be really fun to have her play and me sing once my voice is healed and back to normal. She played songs until I fell asleep. She is so thoughtful!

My mom used to collect miniature tea sets of all makes and models. After having collected them for years she decided to downsize and asked if I would like them. I love those little tea sets, so I said yes and now I have them in my apartment. She gave them to me a few months ago. One day last week, Lil Pig was just being curious and she stumbled upon the box I have them in (it is only until I can find a place to display them). She played with all of them for a very long time, but her favorite was a little pig tea set. She would set it up and then just look at it with a big grin on her face. It was sweet. We leave it out now so she can play with it when she wants to.

Today I decided to let her play Guitar Hero. What a little rockstar she is!! Here is a picture of her playing Guitar Hero I. She's playing "More Than A Feeling" on medium and she is really good! I don't know how her little arms and legs reach all the buttons when she needs to. Sometimes I think I only see a little brown blur but all the notes are being hit! It's funny!

And here is the final result after playing the song. 89% notes hit. That's pretty good. I guess you could say she's a natural on this game. I'm curious to see how she does on Dance Dance Revolution. She could play against James and we'll see who would win. That would be fun.

Lil Pig is so fun, and she wears herself out a lot. I am so glad she is part of our little family! That's all the pictures I have for now, but don't worry. I'll post more again soon. She's always doing something that warrants a picture and a blog entry!

How it all began...

My friend Gina made a wonderfully cute pig for me to keep me company during my surgery. Lil' Pig is her name, and adventure is her game. It seems every time I turn around she is into something, but one look from those big green eyes just melts my heart! Here are some of her most recent adventures.

Here she is playing hide and seek in the flowers. She loves to nestle between the petals and pop out when you least expect it. Last night James was painting at the table when she decided to scare him. It was funny!

This morning she decided to watch her favorite show while I was getting my breakfast. I didn't even know she knew how to turn on the TV!

Sometimes she likes to climb up on the windowsill and wait for James to come home. She always looks so peaceful and content. I often wonder what is going on in that little brain of hers. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her. She just looks so cute!

Thanks again, Gina, for giving me Lil' Pig! She is so fun!
